Parent Orientation

Three Years Class is Tuesday, September 2 at 6:30pm.
Four Years Class is Wednesday,
September 3 at 6:30 pm.
We need at least one parent to attend. This is where you will be given the official forms to fill out and
all of the details of preschool life. In order to get this business taken care of as efficiently as possible,
we ask that you do not bring your children.

Initial Experience

Three Years Class is Thursday, September 4 from 9:30-10:15am.
Four Years Class is Friday,
September 5 from 9:30-10:15 am.
This is a 45-minute introduction for your preschoolers. It is important that all students attend because this is
the time for them to meet their teachers and the other students and to get a feel for what the school day will be like.
We ask that a parent or other adult bring the children and stay for the fun.

First regular class day

Four Years Class will be Monday, September 8, from 8:45-11:15am
Three Years Class will be Tuesday, September 9, from 8:45-11:15am.

Our Purpose and Goals

The purpose of Cornerstone Christian Preschool is to extend the Christian ministry of the Oregon City United Methodist Church through a community outreach program to children.  Our objective is to provide a comprehensive early childhood education with an emphasis on Christian values to children and families living in and around the Oregon City area.

 Our goals are:

  1. To help children become aware of the daily presence of Christ in their lives.
  2. To reinforce Christian living through Bible stories and music.
  3. To help children understand the world around them.
  4. To provide experiences in developing cooperation with others.
  5. To encourage independence and a sense of personal worth.
  6. To introduce Kindergarten readiness skills in reading and mathematics to our class for 4-year-olds.

Our Program

The curriculum used at Cornerstone Christian Preschool will reflect our values embracing unconditional love, respect and social justice for all human life.

A Christian atmosphere will be created through prayer and acts of caring.  Bible stories will come alive through music, posters, flannelgraphs and puppets.   They will learn to explore their own creativity through art, dance and creative play.

Above all, we strive to provide a “fun” learning environment for children.

Cornerstone Christian Preschool does not discriminate in the enrollment of children upon the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, or family composition.
