L.O.V.E. Ministry
- At
Oregon City United Methodist Church, our focus is to "Love Others, Value
Everyone". We want to go farther than simply "greeting" people
attending our church - we want to develop relationships. We want
everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable as they explore their spiritual
journey. We lovingly guide them into involvement, at their own pace
and in their own direction, within the church family. Check the
LOVE Ministries page for more
information.

H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat)
- There are five churches in
the Oregon City area that take turns providing assistance to low-income
families. The pantries are kept full by the food items that are
donated by their church or other organizations or food drives, food is
also purchased using donations, and some government commodities are
distributed.
Clients get assistance once-a-month at
the location that is convenient. Check the HOPE
page for more information. |
Stephen Ministry
-
Stephen Ministry is one-to-one distinctly
Christian care provided to persons facing life challenges or difficulties.
Stephen Ministers are trained lay-people who have learned skills and
developed their talents for bringing Christ's healing love to people who are
grieving, depressed or experiencing other stresses in life. This
ministry is named for Stephen, one of the first seven lay-people called by
the church to assist the apostles in caring for others. (You can read
Stephen's story in Acts 6 & 7.) For more information, call the office.
Check the Stephen Ministry page for more
information.

T.L.C. Team
-
In emergency situations and times of stress, it
is comforting to be able to call on a dedicated group of people for extra
help and "tender, loving care". This team deals with
scheduling meals, childcare, transportation, etc.
Caring Ministries Team
-
This team provides care for our hospitalized and
homebound and remains in contact with their families to provide support.
They also take communion monthly to several area retirement facilities. |
