Five Week Bible Study
on John's Revelation to the Church

August 11, 18, 25, Sept 1, 8 from 6:30-7:30pm

The Book of Revelation was written to be read out loud to real congregations in ancient Western Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) and yet the message is relevant today.  John's Revelation is an exciting book, with a broad range of interpretations, that has remained hotly debated and contested throughout the history of Christianity.  A classic example of apocalyptic writing it is rich with metaphors, allusions, and musical lyrics.  Written to be interpreted in community, the meaning of the text comes alive within an interactive adult Bible study.  Given the popularity of the block-buster best selling "Left Behind"  books and movies that claim to be based on Revelation, it is important that Christians discover that Revelation was written to be a source of hope, not something to fear.  Robyn Morrison, the facilitator and instructor for the Bible study, has a Master of Divinity from the Pacific School of Religion.   Please join us for this five week class - August 11, 18, 25, Sept 1, 8 - in the Heritage Room.

Small Groups
We encourage the development of small groups around common interests, studies and ministries.  If you have an interest or ministry in which you would like to participate, or feel called to begin a group, please e-mail or call the office.

The selection for Tue, September 28th,
is  Stones Into Schools by Greg Mortenson.

Future titles will be chosen by the group.
