Community Food Drive

April 9 - 27, 2012

Our Fifth Annual Food Drive to support
H.O.P.E. = HELPING OTHER PEOPLE EAT

Many local businesses, churches, schools, and civic organizations (including OC City Hall 8:00-5:00)
serve as collection sites for your non-perishable food items.  Please give generously.

Let’s Keep H.O.P.E.*-FULL!

Our local food pantries are struggling even more this year.  We would like to address this problem during this economic crisis.  The Oregon City United Methodist Church will again be coordinating a community-wide food drive with the goal of filling all the storage in our community food pantries.  H.O.P.E. is a local food distribution program in cooperation with the Oregon Food Bank.  It is open to all who qualify without regard to religious affiliation.

For more information, contact Oregon City United Methodist Church at 503-656-3433, or e-mail ocumc@clacknet.com

The 2011 FOOD DRIVE brought in just under 8,000 pounds of food and more than $4000 in monetary donations was collected and  distributed to the five Oregon City pantries by the HOPE Board.  Each dollar buys 10 pounds of food from the Oregon Food Bank and can be used by the pantries as needed.  This means this drive provided almost 50,000 pounds of food for Oregon City area families in need!

These resources were allotted to each HOPE Host church according to the average amount of clients they help.
Well done, Oregon City!
